Applications of Information & Communication Technology
Course Description
This course provides basic knowledge of computing and enhances ability to use computer for everyday business/work environment. Also this course provides the meaning of basic terms and concepts which are used in Information technology. They will also learn to develop skills like collaboration, higher-order thinking, problem solving, and self-direction through effective use of technology tools and resources, thus enabling them to be lifelong learners in the twenty-first century.
Course Learning Outcomes (CLO)
CLO 1: Understand basic concepts of computing technology and its uses in different fields; including history of computers, types of software and hardware, network and Internet, etc.
CLO 2: Perform number systems conversions and arithmetic.
CLO 3: Use different commonly used tools and languages, e.g., MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Excel and basics of html.
